MODEL A CAPSTAN Heavy duty capstan built for hard work and used mainly on charter angling boats. The internal motor makes fitting very easy and makes the unit very weather proof. The large drum and welts give outstanding grip on the anchor rope - you only need 2 turns of rope to haul making it very easy to control and let surge when needed. The motor is 2 kW intermittent for the 24 Volt model and 1.5 kW for the 12 Volt model. Both motors are series wound. The weight of the capstan is approximately 35 kg. Rotation can be set to be clockwise or anticlockwise.
